Marc Arcuri was a seemingly healthy 15-year old boy when he took the field back in 2014. During the match, Marc collapsed and suffered sudden cardiac illness. A nurse performed CPR on Marc during the 30 minutes they waited for the ambulance, but he could not be revived.
The Marc Arcuri Foundation is run by a volunteer committee made of Arcuri family members and friend, all united by a love of the beautiful game and a desire to keep footballers safe. The Marc Arcuri Cup is a day, not simply about fundraising for defibrillators, but to also raise awareness of sudden cardiac illness, celebrate the beautiful game and create some wonderful memories along the way.
I came on board this year to help with art-direction and create promotional material in the lead up to the cup. Overall, they had a record year, having more teams than ever join The Cup, as well as raising over $100,000.
